Contributor Day is one room of tables, one WordPress team per table. Every table needs somebody who knows that team’s workflow well enough to unblock a beginner in two minutes.

    Questions volunteers ask

Do I need to know WordPress?

No. None of the eight teams need it, and much of the work has nothing to do with WordPress. Where it does, a willingness to learn on the day is enough.

Can I volunteer for one day only?

Yes. Say which day on the form. One day is planned for rather than tolerated, and plenty of people do exactly that.

Do I have to live in Bengaluru?

No. Apply from anywhere. The work happens at the venue, so the day you sign up for is a day in Bengaluru.

    What are the shift timings?

Not set by this form. Once you are placed, your team works the timings out with you around what you can actually do.

    Do I get a ticket?

Yes. A volunteer’s ticket is covered, and volunteering gets you into the conference day.

Will I get my first choice of team?

Often. The form takes a second choice because some teams fill before others, and applying early gives your first choice a better shot.

What if I cannot make it after all?

Tell the Volunteers team as early as you can. A gap flagged in the week gets covered. One flagged on the morning does not.

Does the code of conduct apply to volunteers?

Yes, and it is worth reading before you apply. Same rules on both sides of the badge: the code of conduct.

    Volunteer now

We read them as they arrive and place teams after the call closes. Applying early gives you a better shot at your first choice.

The networking dinner, with the speakers, sponsors and organizers.

// if we cannot do one of these for you, we will say so before you commit, not after

    // and your audience

The other half is what your audience gets

A partnership that only swaps logos is not worth your time or ours. Four hundred people can be in the room. What we are actually after is the weekend being useful to everyone who cannot be.

There is a fair amount to pass on. The sessions are recorded and go up free on WordPress.tv afterwards. The attendee guides are public and free to read, ticket or no ticket: getting here, getting around, where to stay, and what Contributor Day actually involves. Contributor Day is built for people who have never contributed to anything before, and you do not need to write code to take part. If your coverage puts those in front of your readers, in your language and on your platform, that is worth more to us than a follower count.

So tell us what your audience gets out of this, not only what you plan to publish. That answer carries real weight when we choose.

What makes it easy to say yes

    01

    A plan with edges

Dates, formats, counts. “Two posts and some social” tells us nothing.

    02

    Recent work

Two links to things you published in the last few months. We read them.

    03

    The right room

Your audience overlaps ours: developers, designers, founders, students, the AI-curious.

    04

The main event is at SJBHS on Museum Road, and Contributor Day is at Bangalore International Centre in Domlur.

    Questions, answered

No, and it is worth being clear. You do not pay us and we do not pay you. Sponsorship is a separate programme with its own tiers and budget, and it lives on the Call for Sponsors. Outlets do neither, one, or both.

No. We do not read drafts, we do not sign anything off, and a critical piece will not cost you the partnership. We only ask that you check facts with us rather than guess, and we will answer straight.

Yes. Tech, startup, design and campus media all reach people who belong in that room. This year’s theme is WordPress and AI, which is a much wider conversation than one CMS.

The partnership includes one pass, and we are keeping it to one per outlet. It is a 400-person event, and every seat we hold back is a seat an attendee cannot have. If a colleague wants to come along, they are very welcome to grab a ticket of their own.

No. WordCamp Bengaluru is volunteer-run and not-for-profit, and the budget does not stretch to travel or hotels for anyone, speakers included. What we do cover is the pass, the dinner and our time.

Applications closed on Monday, 24 August. Write to us anyway through the contact page. We announce partners on Friday 4 September, so later than that is tight, but a good plan arriving late is still a good plan.

    Never spoken before?

You do not need stage experience to be picked. Here is what is actually true about applying for the first time.

    • Our first read is blind, without names or companies attached, so a first proposal and a fiftieth start level.
    • A lightning talk is 15 minutes with no questions. It is a real slot on the schedule, not a consolation prize.
    • The WordPress Diverse Speaker Training Group and the #diverse-speaker-support channel in Making WordPress Slack are open to everyone. They are run by the wider WordPress community, not by us.

    Worth knowing

Most talks that land are small and specific.

We especially want to hear from people who do not usually see themselves on a conference stage. Different backgrounds, tools, and points of view are what make the program worth showing up for.

    What speakers get

A free speaker ticket, once we have your details and your signed A/V release. Already bought one? Pass it on to someone else.

    Networking dinner

    Questions, answered

The call allowed up to two proposals each. A talk that teaches will always beat a talk that pitches.

Yes, and the call asked everyone for theirs. The username is how your talk, your speaker profile, and your WordPress.org profile get linked together, so a session cannot go on the schedule without one. Making one is free and takes about a minute at login.wordpress.org/register.

Only for workshops. Talks and lightning talks are solo. If you proposed a workshop with someone else named in your topic description, we will loop them in when we write to you.

English and Kannada are both welcome. Present in whichever lets you tell your story best.

Yes. Talks are filmed for WordPress.tv, with your name on the schedule and the site.

We cannot cover travel or accommodation. WordCamp Bengaluru is run by volunteers and is not-for-profit, and the budget does not stretch that far, so please plan on getting yourself here. What we do cover is your ticket and a seat at the networking dinner. Access needs are a separate thing and we take them seriously: the form asked about them, and you can still tell us through the contact page, whether that is step-free stage access or anything else that would help. We will do what we can.

Why this room is worth it

    01

    Reach the people who decide

The room is developers, agency owners, and makers who choose the hosts, plugins, and tools their teams run on. That is attention built on trust, not a bought impression.

    02

    Back the open web

WordPress quietly runs a huge share of the internet, and it stays open because communities keep it that way. Sponsoring a not-for-profit WordCamp says you stand behind that.

    03

Sit inside the WordPress and AI moment

This year’s theme is where WordPress meets AI. Sponsors are right next to the people building that shift, in the talks, at the booths, and in the hallway chatter.

    Good to know

    Your booth

There are no built stalls. The whole sponsor area sits under one covered roof, and your booth is an open, marked-out space in it with cloth-covered tables and a junction box for power.

    Setup and teardown

Your booth runs on the main event day, Sunday 22 November, with setup 7:00 to 8:30 AM and teardown 4:30 to 6:00 PM.

    Bring your branding

Standees in front of the booth and front-table branding are welcome.

    Venue rules

A school campus, so no three-sided wall stalls.

    Questions sponsors ask

A quick rundown of what sponsors usually want to know before they commit. If we have not covered yours, the form below reaches the sponsor team directly.

Who will we be in front of?

We expect around 400 attendees across the two days, Contributor Day on Saturday 21 November and the main event on Sunday 22 November: developers, designers, agency owners, founders, students, and everyday WordPress users. The theme this year is WordPress and AI, so you are in the room with the people building on the open web right now.

How do we pick the right tier?

Start with the Compare the tiers table above to see what each tier includes side by side. Suvarna is our most visible, on screen and in the room, and Kanchu is the friendly way in. If you are unsure, choose Not sure yet in the form and we will suggest one based on your goals.

Can we sponsor in kind instead of paying cash?

Yes. Instead of cash you can provide goods or services matched to a tier’s value, such as lanyards, coffee, Wi-Fi, or tote bags. Your passes, booth, and benefits are then set by arrangement based on what you provide.

    How is payment handled?

Every payment runs through WordCamp Central’s official payment links. We never collect money directly, which keeps the event transparent and genuinely not-for-profit.

Does sponsoring include a speaking slot?

No. The talk program is chosen on merit and is never pay-to-play. You are welcome to demo at your booth and you will get shoutouts from the stage, but sponsorship does not buy a session.

Will we get attendee contact details or a lead list?

No. WordCamp privacy rules do not allow sharing attendee data, so we never hand out contact details or lead lists. The leads you take home come from real conversations at your booth.

What if our team cannot travel to Bengaluru?

That is fine. Suvarna sponsors who cannot attend can still ship swag for the attendee kit, and we share a shipping address by email, so your brand is in the room even if your team is not.

    How do we sign up?

Fill in the form below, or email us at bengaluru@wordcamp.org. Tell us a little about your company, pick a tier, and the sponsor team will follow up with what is currently available.

    // deadline

Applications close Thursday, 15 October 2026

23:59 IST. Vetting, passes, booth and branding take about a month to sort out between us, so the earlier you apply the smoother it runs. We read applications as they arrive.
