What a table lead actually does
A morning of hosting, a starter list written before it, and no slides anywhere.

Eight to ten tasks a newcomer can finish in a morning, plus the accounts and tools they will need open.

Every lead gets a turn on the stage to say what their team does, then it is back to your table and straight into setup. Nobody should still be installing at 11:00.

Contribution time runs to 12:45. Pair people up, answer the same question three times without sighing, and keep the slowest person moving.

A workshop, a talk, or a deck. Introducing your team at the welcome is the only time you are on the stage, and there is no obligation to know every answer: the room has other leads in it.

Online, all leads together, after the leads are confirmed. We set the date then and send it to you, so there is nothing to put in your calendar yet.

In the room from 09:00 to the 13:00 close, then lunch. A table cannot lose its lead halfway.

A year of contributing is plenty. You need to know the next step, not every step.

Apply as a pair and split the day between you. Most tables run better with two leads than with one.

Leading in Kannada or Hindi
Say so in the form and it goes on your table sign. English is not the default at every table.

Volunteering and speaking
Different calls with their own forms. Leading a table does not rule either of them out.
The code of conduct applies at your table too, and you are the person a contributor tells first.

Before you apply
Open any of them. If yours is not here, write to us and we will answer it.
What if nobody sits at my table?
Contributors pick their table when they arrive, and we point first timers at whichever tables are quiet. If yours is still thin by 11:00, take your list to the table next door and work together.
Is the briefing call compulsory?
It is 45 minutes online with every lead, and it is where we agree the run sheet for the day. The date is set once the leads are confirmed, and we send it to you then. If it does not work for you, we send the run sheet instead and take your questions by email.
Where is Contributor Day, and what are the hours?
At Bangalore International Centre in Domlur, on Saturday 21 November. Doors at 09:00, the welcome at 09:30, contribution time from 10:00 to 12:45, and the day closes at 13:00 with lunch. Sunday’s conference is at St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School on Museum Road, a different building.
Does this get me into the Sunday conference?
Yes. A confirmed lead gets a Contributor Day seat and a Sunday ticket at no cost, with lunch on both days. Already bought a ticket? We cannot refund it, but it is yours to pass on to anyone who wants the Sunday.
