Remembering Puneet
Puneet Sahalot was an entrepreneur, a visionary thinker, a mentor and a guiding light for many people in the WordPress ecosystem. He helped people find their place in the WordPress community, and everyone who knew him remembers his humility, his generosity and how willing he was to help.
In 2012 he founded IdeaBox Creations as a one-person venture in Udaipur. WordPress was still new to many people in smaller cities then, and he helped bring WordPress culture to Udaipur and grow it there. He also laid the foundation for the Udaipur WordPress Meetup, a space where WordPress enthusiasts could meet, learn, share what they knew and grow together.
His untimely passing left a void the community still feels.

Puneet helped a lot of people find their way into WordPress. This is a small way of doing the same in Bengaluru.
Thank you to WordCamp Udaipur 2023, where this scholarship began, and to the organisers of WordCamp Rajasthan 2026, who carried it on and wrote about Puneet with such care. Their announcement tells more of his story.
