Based in Bangalore, Debabrata “Deb” Karfa has been building with WordPress since 2009. A full-stack engineering leader with over fifteen years of experience building and scaling web platforms, he currently works on MarTech engineering at JLL. A WordPress Core contributor, he is driven by a genuine passion for problem-solving — the kind that looks past quick fixes towards practical, lasting solutions. Having spent the better part of a decade working within the startup world, he brings a builder’s mindset and a hands-on approach to everything he takes on.

Deb has been part of the WordPress Bengaluru community since 2016, contributing through meetups, do_action charity hackathons, and, more recently, as an organiser. His involvement in the wider ecosystem has taken him to WordCamps and other technology events across a number of cities and countries, where he continues to learn from the community as much as he gives back to it.

Beyond WordPress, Deb is currently exploring artificial intelligence and getting his hands dirty with cybersecurity, deepening his expertise in security architecture and enterprise risk.
