Arun Shenoy is a Senior Software Engineer at Newfold Digital (Bluehost). Across five years of building for the open web he has worked on block themes, migrations, plugin development and performance, mostly on the parts people actually touch rather than the parts they read about.

A lot of that work now runs through AI, though the interesting question was never whether a model can generate a site. It is what happens on the second edit, when someone wants to change one thing and keep everything else exactly as it was. That gap is where he spends his time.

He contributes to WordPress in the open, mentors, and speaks at community events. The reason is straightforward: the web is still somewhere a small business or a first-time creator can build something themselves, without hiring a team to do it. That is worth keeping.
