Siddharthan will present a workshop on “Tools and Workflow: Local dev environments for developing WordPress”

The WordCamp Bengaluru 2023 Organizing Team is pleased to announce a hands-on workshop by Siddharthan who will be presenting a workshop on Tools and Workflow: Local dev environments for developing WordPress.

He is a backend engineer working at Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com. He is currently part of the team that builds the Jetpack Social plugin. Prior to Automattic, I worked for startups such as Radius Agent and Hashnode and have built backend systems that have scaled from 0 to million plus users.

Besides WordPress, He loves talking about microservices and building software at scale.

In this workshop…

Any beginner wanting to work on WordPress would have encountered the question of how to set up a self-hosted WordPress site locally. Do I use Docker? Do I use Vagrant? Or I do simply use Flywheel.

In this talk, I plan to explore all of them and do a real-time demo of the different choices one has.
